Almost there!

Do you love that song from The Princess and the Frog as much as I do? Truthfully I love some of the other songs from that movie even more, but that one's good. I was so pleased to find that on the 3 for $20 table at Blockbuster yesterday. But that is not the true subject of this post.

We closed on our house on Tuesday (yay!!) but our movers were booked until July 1st, so tomorrow is the big day! To be honest, the closing was a bit anti-climactic since we had to go back to our dumpy temporary apartment. I imagine it will all feel much more real tomorrow when our house is full of boxes of our stuff and we get to sleep there for the first time.

So where are all the pictures I've been promising?? I have a good excuse on that one. I need a card reader to upload them to the good laptop and amidst the move we don't know exactly where our card reader is. The rest of the bad news is that we will be without an internet connection at our house for about a week so we will all just have to hold our horses! But I gotta say, I cannot wait for you all to see it! I love, love, love our house and I am thrilled with how beautifully it turned out! I truly don't mean to boast. I would love this house no matter who it belonged to and it still almost doesn't seem real that it's ours!

Anyway, I'm hoping for a really good night of rest tonight because tomorrow is going to be a busy day. Stay tuned for pics!

Update from Texas

Today the kids and I spent the day out and about and the highlight might have been the splash pad at the Woodlands waterway. It was either that or the furniture store we went to with Spencer after dinner. It definitely wouldn't have been the hour or more we spent in Marshalls, although considering how boring a place that has got to be for them, they were really good while we were there.

Since I am now 36 weeks pregnant (but looking and feeling more like 46 weeks along), spending a whole day out like that is not exactly ideal. Let me explain. Until we close on our house, we are not going to buy a much needed second car, so if we want to be able to be out at all we have to drive Spencer to work in the morning. And since we are in such a small apartment, not being able to go anywhere all day is even less desirable than spending the whole day out. And today we needed to be able to go check out some online classified deals (a baby swing for $50 and a Kirby Sentria vacuum for $280!).

House update: I am so tempted to post pictures, but I'm going to wait. We are SO close to the end! Our project manager said he's planning to have it finished by the 23rd and we'll most likely be closing a few days later. We are so ready!! And it will be extra sweet since we have been living in this temporary housing that is not nice at all. We are all very ready to be in a place that is ours with all of our own stuff. Of course the truth of it is that I'm going to have to hope that my nesting instinct kicks in nice and strong so I can get us as settled as possible before I have this little girl. I'd love to have everything in its proper place before the baby comes, but if it's not it will be fine. I'll have plenty of time to get it done later, right?

our house...again

I am really going to try to make this be the last progress picture I post. Because I think that our house will be all the way done really soon and I cannot wait! They haven't given us an exact date of completion, but they have assured us (without putting it in writing) that we will be able to close by June 30 so we will qualify for the tax credit. The kids and I will be going to Houston in just a few days and we are planning to go visit our house as soon as possible. It's just so exciting! Spencer has sent me so many pictures but they are working on it so fast that I know there will be plenty of changes for me to see this weekend. Anyway, there you have it. Now I need to finish with my organizing/packing so we'll be ready when the packers come on Thursday. Next time I blog it will be from Texas!
